Buffalo Academy of Science is a charter school located in downtown Buffalo, NY. This school is full of wonderful teachers and administration as well as resources and opportunities for students to expand their high school experience. However, it could use an increase in the number of advanced and accelerated classes offered, as well as clubs and activities to supplement education with extracurricular activities. Overall, it is an amazing community.

My experience with Buffalo Academy of Science was not the worst. Unlike other schools, buffsci does not mix classes, people are put in a section based on their grades. Some people do not like this but I personally don’t mind it. I like the idea that I don't have to know so many new faces in each class and have to socialize every so often. I made some life long friends in this place, ones I can never replace. This school is also great in how it prepares it’s students for college, as a senior i was given a whole class to help with whatever I needed when applying to colleges. In contrast, a criticism I have for this school though is their lunch. Not only is the lunch time only about 20 minutes long but the food we get is not filling at all. It should not be considered a lunch, a snack at most. I also don’t like how those in the highest section are forced to take certain AP/Dual courses. Students should have a say for such subjects that require much more work and energy than others.

Well from the start of freshman year, the teachers understood me in how advanced I was. At the end of freshman year and all the way through my sophom*ore year it was online classes. The school provided supplies and were understanding about being at home. My junior year was a little more stressful due to taking an AP course. My senior year went by fast because of all the fun and relaxed the teachers were. I would like to see more students involved in planning events and so forth. I would also like to see the lunches to be better and vary in options.
