Ingredients for Creamy Expresso Martini co*cktail Recipe
As I said, the recipe is pretty simple. But for the authentic taste, stick to the mentioned ingredients. You can grab them from your nearest grocery store or even order them online.
- Fresh Espresso - Of course, the star ingredient! I use my Breville Barista espresso machine for this, and it's perfect every time. If you're in a pinch, you can use instant espresso or just coffee.
- Vodka - Any vodka brand would do. You can play with the flavors. Maybe try some vanilla vodka or espresso vodka. Want to stick to plain vodka? Sure, go ahead. Some people also make it with tequila!
- Baileys Irish Cream - No compromise with this one. Baileys brings a nice creamy and sweet element to this drink. It comes in flavors, so pick according to your tastebuds. I enjoy that extra espresso flavor, so I usually go with their Espresso Creme.
- Simple Syrup - If you feel there's a need for a little bit more sweetness, add some simple syrup. Ice - An important ingredient to keep the drink chilled and dilute it a bit.
- Espresso Beans - What? No garnishing? No way!

The Right Equipment
Let's look at the things we need to fix ourselves a delicious creamy coffee martini.
Stemmed co*cktail Glasses- You don't want to underwhelm this beautiful co*cktail, so serve it in premium stemmed glasses like coupe glasses or martini glasses. You can even place the glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving. You can also use a mason jar if you want.
co*cktail Shaker- We're making co*cktails here, so obviously, we need a shaker to mix all our ingredients together. Plus, it's the best way to create that creamy foam on top.
Espresso Maker- I've noticed freshly brewed espresso contributes to the froth a big time. So, it's a bonus if you have an espresso maker.
Strainer- This one is important if you use freshly brewed espresso. Nobody likes coffee grounds in their drink!
Jigger- Don't mistake me for a bartender, but I love this tool. It saves me from doing extra dishes! And, of course, it helps measure the ounces right. If you don't have one, no big deal. You can eyeball it.
Tips and Tricks
- Use the best ingredients. So, even if you get a substitute, I'd say stick to Bailey's Irish Cream.
- Let your espresso cool before adding it to the shaker. Otherwise, it'll melt the ice cubes and dilute your drink.
- Shake the co*cktail for at least 20-30 seconds to get that creamy texture and foam on top.
- Garnish your beautiful drink with crushed coffee beans, coffee powder, or cocoa powder. I wouldn't mind a chocolate syrup drizzle, either.
- Serve in chilled glasses to keep the drink cold until you finish it. And serve it immediately.
Variations You Can Try
- Make it Creamier - Add some heavy cream for a velvety sip. This will also work if you can't find Bailey's Irish Cream. Just mix Kahlua, heavy cream, and simple syrup.
- Use Cold Brew Concentrate - Don't have time to brew a fresh pot of espresso? No worries. Use cold brew concentrate instead and follow the same recipe. The result - a smoother, less bitter drink. A shot of espresso combined with instant coffee works great, too.
- Try Different Flavored Syrups - Simple syrup works fine, but you can experiment with different flavored syrups like vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut. Another option is adding a touch of amaretto for an extra kick.
